4Obituary, Pueblo Chieftain, 26 Jun 2005. Helen Yvonne Flye, 87, went to be with the Lord June 18, 2005, in a care center in Prescott, Ariz. She was born in Culver, Kan., on Dec. 6 1917. Her mother, Cora Maybelle Brandt, and father, George Lester Blondefield, preceded her in death. She was married to Ralph L. Flye on June 27, 1936. Ralph preceded her in death in 1999. They were married for 63 years when he went home to be with the Lord. Helen is survived by four children: Bonnie and husband, Wayne Daniel of Prescott, Ariz.; Carol and husband, Joe Black, of San Angelo, Texas; Ron Flye of Paonia, Colo.; and Yvonne and husband, John, of Bay Point, Calif. She has nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Helen has one sister, Mary Ellen Heberly, Canon City, Colo.; two brothers, Richard Blondefield, Arizona, and Ellwood Blondefield, Nevada. She had two sisters, Margaret Kuhl and Virginia Nightingale; and one brother, Paul Blondefield, that preceded her in death. She also leaves behind many friends whom she loved dearly. Special thanks goes to her sister, Mary, and her husband, Don Heberly, for the loving care and help they gave to her for many years. Helen was a homemaker all of her life and she taught piano to many students wherever she lived over the years. Her dedication as the wife of a Baptist minister was unwavering and she was always there to support her husband in the churches where he was the pastor. She lived in Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, California, and Arizona, but spent the last years of her life in Canon City, Colorado. Her love of music and sharing it with the churches she was a member of was her joy in life. She taught numerous Sunday school classes and loved teaching children about God. The family requests that instead of flowers, memorials are sent to the hospice or to the Greydene Baptist Church Building Fund. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2005, at the Holt Family Funeral Home with Pastor Richard A. Wilson of Greydene Baptist Church officiating. She will be buried in the Penrose Cemetery in Penrose, Colorado.
