In the 1911 Census her place of birth is shown as Woodford, London - this must be an error. There is a village called Woodford near Stockport but it is south of Stockport.

In the September 1939 Registers, Alice is living at Old Hall Farm in Flixton, Suffolk. with her two sons Richard (Dairy Farmer) and William (Bank Clerk). Also at the address is Ellen Chambers, aged 63, who is described as a Companion Help. Alice's husband, Ernest was away from home working as a Crane Driver.
