The typed transcript of the Sizeland Registers, shows Percy's baptism as April 1879. This is several months before the birth of Percy was registered?

At the time of the 1901 Census, Percy was living in Southwold, Suffolk, with his Brother in Law Herbert Boggis.

Percy emigrated to Canada in July 1907. He appears in the Passenger manifest for the 'Empress of Ireland' which sailed from Liverpool  to Quebec, arriving on the 5th July 1907. He was recorded as single, aged 27 years, a farmer from Norfolk with Winnipeg as his final destination. There is a stamp next to several of the passengers, including Percy, saying 'British Bonus Allowed', could this be some form of assisted passage?

In the 1911 Census of Canada, Ethel's country of birth is recorded as England. Was this an enumeration error. There are several Ethel Partridge's registered in the UK between 1879 and 1883 but none in Aug 1881 and none with the second name of Foster or initial F.  

In 1913, Ethel and her 3 year old son John, travelled from Quebec aboard the Empress of Ireland, arriving in Liverpool on the 20th November. Her occupation was stated as housewife and her age as 31. They returned to Quebec aboard the same ship from Liverpool on the 14th April 1914. This time her age was recorded as 26 (quite a rejuvinating trip!)

There is a burial record at Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg (Ref: 60-0221-0) for an infant Blunderfield who died on the 3 Apr 1917 (buried 9 Apr 1917). The website didn't give any parent details but the child seems more likely to have been Percy and Ethels rather than George and Ella Mays.

On the 9th April 1917, in Winnipeg, he signed up to join the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force - he described himself as a Grocery Clerk and gave his full name as Edgar Russell Blunderfield (but signed the form as Edgar Blunderfield, so this was clearly the name he preferred to use). His date of birth is given as 19 Mar 1898. His Regimental number was 2147469.
