Charles died from injuries he received in an accident on the 27 Jun 1906. He was working as a Foreman for the Great Eastern Railway Company at the Harleston depot. A wagon, with it's door down, was being unloaded outside the goods warehouse, when it was mistakenly drawn forward, the wagon door struck the warehouse door, causing it to collapse on top of Charles.
