'On 2nd April, 1917, Private NOELL a Battalion Stretcher-Bearer at NOREUIL, showed great bravery and endurance in carrying wounded from the front line to the R.A.P. for many hours across a mile of open country swept by machine gun and shell fire.'

Cpl. George Blunderfield B Noel No4836 of the 51st Infantry Bn returned to Australia, along with some 1100 others in the 13th Quota of men to be repatriated, on board the luxurious 'troopship' P&O's S.S. 'China'. They departed Devonport in England on the 1st of May 1919. George was able to disembark at Fremantle, close to where he lived, on the 1st of June.

In November 1914, Stephen Noell, together with his uncle Charles Blunderfield, carried out an armed robbery near Bundaberg, stealing £1,800. They were soon caught and sentenced to four year's hard labour. Interestingly, Charles and Stephen both enlisted in the army in December 1915 - perhaps this was a way of getting out of prison.

The parentage of Henry Charles is unclear:
In the 1891, 1901 and 1911 census, Jabez Richard Blunderfield records him as his Grandson. It seems more probable that the child would have remained with the mother and her family than with the father. The birth certificate or baptism record would provide more clarity.

During WW1, Henry served in the Royal Army Medical Corps.

In 1926, Henry Charles Blunderfield, of the Royal Albert Infirmary in Wigan, was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society.

In January 1945, Henry Charles was an executor of his Uncle Jabez Francis Blunderfield's will. Henry was described as a Pathological Laboratory Technician. As probate was granted in Llandudno, it seems likely that Henry was working and living in North Wales at that time.
